FOUNDED 1893 (MCC founded 1787)
Background
The MCC Library Collection was founded by MCC to furnish a reading room for members in the new pavilion (opened 1890). It has since expanded to comprise the world’s largest collection of printed material on cricket, with the aim of promoting the study and understanding of cricket history.
Building
Housed at the top of the Memorial block behind the famous Lord’s Pavilion, the building also houses the MCC Museum and the Club’s Real Tennis Court.
Collection
More than 20,000 books, pamphlets, periodicals, annuals, tour and match brochures and the origins and development of all bat and ball sports. The Collection spans the 16th century to the present day. The MCC Archive can also be viewed in the Library.
Activities
Library book club evenings for members and guests. Cricket Society & MCC Book of the Year Award. Private tours of the collections, by arrangement. Research enquiries accepted by email, post, telephone.

Membership
Open to members of MCC and Middlesex County Cricket Club but also open to the general public by appointment on non-match days.
